History

GenR8 was established in 2001 as a single team of 5 volunteers to bring entertaining, high quality assemblies with a Christian ethos to local primary schools.

There are now several teams working in Cambridgeshire and North Hertfordshire, with further affiliate teams in King’s Lynn and Gislingham.

GenR8 became a registered charity in March 2010 and is an associate body of Scripture Union.

At present GenR8 employs a full-time director plus a part-time administrator and a part-time communications coordinator. At the heart of GenR8 are volunteers.

There are over 60 volunteers involved with GenR8; all are committed Christians from different denominations in the local community and have experience of working with children in schools or church settings. Many volunteers have professional qualifications in relevant disciplines.

School assembly presentations are the core of GenR8’s work and in a typical term GenR8 presents to over 30,000 children (over 100 primary schools).  GenR8 is involved in many other areas of work supporting schools and churches.
