Growing Young Disciples
November 2019 saw our very first GYD event! A partnership between GenR8 and the Eastern United Reformed Church, GYD started Friday evening and went on until late Saturday afternoon when just about everyone was falling asleep!
GYD came about as a result of successful Growing Young Leaders (GYL) days over the last three years which received very encouraging feedback from young people, parents and children/youth workers.
Eleven young people from school years 6-8 descended on Histon for the debut of GYD where we looked at what it means to be ‘fruitful on our frontline.’ What does it mean to live as a disciple in our schools, places of work, within our clubs, groups, at home and with the people we come into regular contact with throughout our weeks?
The young people participated fantastically and we had a lot of fun together. Hopefully along the way we all learnt a bit more about what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
Here’s what one parent had to say about GYD 2019:
Charlie had an absolutely amazing time and came back buzzing! Thank you so much!
